A Carbon Removal Unit (CRU) corresponds to 1 metric tonne of CO₂ removed and durably stored, and it is issued once delivery occurs. NULIFE’s CRUs are net of project emissions—we quantify the emissions associated with removal activities and subtract them from the final credited amount. CRUs are generated under NULIFE’s methodology (Bio-oil Geological Storage Protocol) and are issued via Isometric, with independent third-party validation and verification (VVB). When you purchase a CRU, you receive sole ownership of that unit and the associated removal claim.
